Ukiyo Mash
React FastAPI SQLite

The idea stems from The Social Network, where Mark builds an ELO ranking website. During my bachelor thesis I had used the Metropolitan Museum of Art Collection API several times — it provides an interface to hundreds of thousands of artworks — so combining the two felt natural.

Voting

Users are shown two ukiyo-e prints side by side with their image and meta information. A link to the Met website lets users read more about each artwork. After a vote, the server applies the ELO formula to update both artworks' scores in the SQLite database.

Ranking

A separate ranking page lets users browse all available artworks, compare their ELO scores, and look them up on the Metropolitan Museum website.
